I was living in Bellevue ( near seattle ) for a few years and from May to Oct. on most weekends we used to go into the surrounding national parks and forests.
Mount baker is located north of seattle about 3 hours drive from seattle. It is more famous for winter sports.
These are some snaps taken in the month of Sep. 2003.
If you are in and around seattle then you can make a day trip to Mount Baker. Leave early pack some food ( Lemon Rice, Curd rice would be heavenly.) .
Depending on how fit you are you can hike for 1/2 a mile or for longer distances. Or not hike at all. You can drive up and enjoy the views.
When I relocated to chennai in 2005 the only thing I miss in chennai is these hikes and visits to Nature.
